I have done more traveling this year than I have in a long time despite being utterly broke. Here’s a quick breakdown.
New Orleans, LA
Partied hard in the street. Loved every minute of it.
Austin, TX
Tequila fueled rage at the Revival Fest
Bonnaroo (Manchester, TN)
Four days of extremely hot weather and bands everywhere.
Favorite acts were Graveyard, The Sword, Wanda Jackson, Loretta Lynn, Bootsy Collins, and more
Nashville, TN
1. Black Oak Arkansas
I have always liked BOA, but now I love them.
2. New York Dolls, Poison, & Motley Crue
Unfortunately I got there late and missed the Dolls.
Pea Ridge, TN
Black Oak Arkansas
Only another 3hr drive to see BOA again? Let’s do it!
In other news, my last post was back in November 2011 before I had finished my National Solo Album Month project.
I should have done a post about it, but somehow didn’t get around to it. It’s a REAL COUNTRY album titled ‘Smokey Mountain Sadness’, which is available at http://www.sloanstewart.com . I worked about 12hrs straight on this thing from finishing writing songs to the final mixes and talked my brother into doing drums on it. I would like to eventually go back and get a better mix, but it is what it is.
Back in April, 40oz. Folklore’s first full length was officially ‘released’. We had tracked most of this in January and I finally got around to settling with a mix that I thought was good enough. Good response from THE FANS on it so far.

As of now, July 2011, I’m working on new material with my favorite band Strayfire as well as working on JD Madewell’s first solo project. We get about one day a week where our schedules align, so it will take a bit of time, but so far it is coming along pretty good with a day of setup and one solid day of good drum tracking. Here is some video the guys have been getting with one of those Flip cameras.
